The term manual therapy refers to hands-on treatment on muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. This hands-on approach is the core of our treatment. It is a highly sophisticated technique that takes years of intense study and practice to master. Manual therapy aims at decreasing pain and improving function in the body. It has been demonstrated in scientific peer reviewed studies to be one of the most effective methods of treatment given by physical therapists in treatment of pain and improvement of function.
Therapeutic exercise is a vital complement to our manual therapy techniques to obtain a good result. It is important to understand that it is not lack of strength that causes pain; it is an improper functioning musculoskeletal system. To try to correct this dysfunction with conditioning or generic exercises often makes the problem worse. Rehabilitation exercise is highly specific and very low intensity. The muscle system must first function correctly with rehabilitation; then strengthen with conditioning exercise. The initial exercises are used to enhance the correction made with the manual therapy techniques. Once the correction holds with rehabilitation, strengthening exercises are prescribed. We have literally hundreds of exercises that can be given for your specific condition. Once learned, these exercises can be performed on a self-directed basis to avoid reoccurrence.

After a manual therapy and/or exercise treatment this is applied with either heat or ice to reduce muscle spasm, swelling, and inflammation of injured tissue. It is a pleasant sensation and by reducing soft tissue tension and pain can help facilitate a good recovery.
1. T.E.N.S. (Transcutaneus Electrical Nerve Stimulation) –

interferential utilises two currents passed through the tissues simultaneously. IFT is used in the clinical practice for pain relief, muscle stimulation, increased local blood flow, reduction of oedema
3. Therapeutic Ultrasound (US) –
it is a form of mechanical vibration delivered to the tissue that accelerates speed the rate of healing and enhance the quality of the repair.
Ultrasound is a very helpful modality for some specific conditions. Painless sound waves are produced by the machine and transferred to a sound head. The sound head is placed on the body. These sound waves penetrate deep into body tissues generating heat within the body part. This will assist in tissue repair and reduction in pain.
Core Stability Training
Core stability training is used to strengthen abdominal and spinal muscles with the aim of increasing spinal stability. Traditional abdominal training targets the prime movers in the trunk such as the rectus abdominis muscle. Core stability training works on the postural muscles (e.g. transverse abdominis) that help to stabilize the spine and maintain a desired position while performing an activity.
